34 River Edge Road.

Project Overview.
A residence shaped
to history and contemporary living.
Opportunity
Built in 1897, 34 River Edge Road is among the older residences in River Edge. Its 0.20-acre in-town site and period character made it distinctive, but a late-19th-century plan set clear limits on how the home could serve contemporary households.
Strategy
The thesis was repositioning rather than replacement: respect the historic footprint and address, and materially elevate the residence so it could compete as a contemporary home.
Execution
The before and after exteriors show a residence renewed from the street inward in presentation, with a clean, current elevation that keeps the scale and setting of its historic origins.
Outcome
The completed 2,900-square-foot home brings modern livability to a historic River Edge address, turning a late-19th-century property into a residential asset suited to today's market.
